The Opportunity
We are seeking a visionary VP, Products & Services, to lead our charge in redefining the mainframe modernization landscape. You will sit at the intersection of heritage and horizon—steering our established Mainframe Modernization practice while seamlessly assimilating our cutting-edge AI product vision into actionable, high-value services.
This is not a traditional maintenance role. It is a transformation role. You will be the architect bridging the gap between COBOL and Cloud, between JCL and Jenkins, and between legacy operations and AI-driven futures.
What You Will Do
- Lead the Practice: Own the P&L and strategic direction for the Mainframe Modernization practice. Drive growth, delivery excellence, and client success by transforming "legacy" liabilities into modern assets.
- Operationalize AI: Translate Graytitude’s AI product vision (MLOps, LLMOps, GenAI) into tangible product offerings. You will define how we use AI to automate the ops lifecycle, enhance testing, and accelerate adoption for our clients.
- Bridge the Divide: Champion the "DevOps for Mainframe" culture. You will lead teams that implement modern CI/CD pipelines on the mainframe, ensuring that Git, Jenkins, and Ansible become as standard as ISPF.
- Product-Service Hybridization: Move beyond pure services by packaging our IP into repeatable products and accelerators. You will identify market gaps where our specific blend of Mainframe + AI expertise can create scalable software solutions.
- Thought Leadership: Serve as the external face of Graytitude’s modernization capabilities. Represent the firm at industry conferences, lead webinars, and publish insights that challenge the status quo of the modernization market.
Who You Are
- A "Bilingual" Technologist: You speak fluent Mainframe (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2) and fluent Modern (Git, Bitbucket, Python, CI/CD). You understand the deep technical nuances of the z/OS environment but manage it with a cloud-native mindset.
- A Modernization Strategist: You have deep experience in the modernization space—not just "lift and shift," but refactoring, re-platforming, and automated conversion. You know why migrations fail and how to ensure they succeed.
- An AI Evangelist: You don’t just watch the AI trend; you know how to apply it. You understand how GenAI can be used to document legacy code or generate test cases, and you can build a business case for it.
- A People Leader: You lead with Human Centricity.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of leadership experience in IT Services, Product Management, or Engineering with a focus on Enterprise Systems.
- In-depth Mainframe Mastery: Proven track record in mainframe modernization, migration, or optimization projects.
- Modern Toolchain Expertise: Hands-on understanding of the modern DevOps stack, specifically Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Ansible, and how they apply to mainframe environments (e.g., Zowe, IBM DBB).
- AI/ML Fluency: Demonstrated ability to integrate AI/ML strategies into product roadmaps or service delivery models.
- Business Acumen: Experience managing practice financials, presales support, and executive-level client relationships.
